In May of 2006 the day after school was out. A group of 5th graders from Sunset Elementary and Coral Way Elementary took a trip to Madrid Spain. SIPA put the trip together and my mom and her friend Maria Blet who is also a board member worked really hard to put this trip together. I was very excited. My mom did not go but I felt very safe with all of the Chaperones that went with us. Everyone was so nice.
Going to Spain for the first time was awesome especially going with my friends and meeting new friends. We went shopping and saw so many things. The first week we went to school it was called Colegio Issaac Albeniz. Everyone there was very nice and it was very cool to be in school with Spanish kids and to see how they learn. It was a lot of fun.
The second week we went all over Madrid and took day trips to Segovia, Toledo, Teleferico de Madrid. El Teatro IMAX, Museo Cosmo Caixa, we saw a play called "Mama Mia"; we saw a Flamenco show and so many other things. My favorite part was "El Palacio Real". We saw a beautiful garden with many plants. We also saw the bedroom of the King and Queen of Spain. Spain was awesome. Now that I am Carver I understand a lot better when we study the Culture of Spain. My Spanish also got a lot better. I am really glad that SIPA put this trip together it was a great opportunity. I can't wait to take other trips. This was my first trip to Europe.
