About SIPA

Who We Are

The Spanish International Parents Association (SIPA) was established in April 1990 at Sunset Elementary. SIPA is a non-profit organization of parents. It serves as a support group for the Spanish section of the International Studies Program of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS), now at Sunset Elementary, Coral Way K-8 Center and G.W. Carver Middle School.

How We Do It

We generate funds through annual membership dues, corporate and individual donations and fundraising events.

What We Do

  • Facilitate communication with Spain's Ministry of Education and the Consular Representatives.
  • Obtain recognition, dual accreditation and financial assistance from the Ministry of Education of Spain and business in the community.
  • Work closely with MDCPS and its Magnet Division.
  • Raise funds for books and teacher support materials
  • Promote education exchange trips to Spanish speaking countries
  • Organize social events for families of children involved in the program
  • Work closely with other parent support groups
